More often than not, people see rebranding as a mere “logo revision” or “slight facelift” to an established company. However, a new logo is not just about visual change any more. Instead, it’s about changing the brand’s personality and future identity through content marketing and strategic partnerships with other companies.
As a creative agency, ID Card PH believes that there are six critical things to ask when hiring a creative agency (this applies to all businesses, not just ours).
1. Why do you need a new logo?
Every business has reasons for changing its brand identity – be it a new product launch or business expansion. The first step is to have an honest conversation with the client about the reason for rebranding. Next, tell them about how your agency plans to revamp its brand. Have a clear goal (for example, increased web traffic or profitability).
2. How much do you want to spend?
If the client is ready to shell out $1,000+ for a new logo redesign, it’s best to go into the project with an open mind and understand that they want their business to succeed. That’s why they want a new logo.
3. Who are your target market?
How can you design a brand identity that is relevant to them? What other brands do they like or follow? What makes them use your services over the competition? The more you know about your client, the better.
4. What is your goal?
Ask the client to describe their overall vision of business growth and marketplace success. This will help you understand if the logo redesign is right for them now or whether they have a bigger plan in mind down the road.
5. How much time do you need?
If you’re working on a deadline, it’s best to discuss this upfront. Most clients can’t afford to wait too long for the project if they need to get started on their next campaign initiative. So be sure to give them a reasonable estimate of time and cost.
6. What is your vision for the new brand identity?
This is probably the most important question of them all. Don’t just ask for a description of what the client wants to see in their new logo design – instead, tell them about how you plan to interpret their vision.
Make sure you have a clear idea of what the client wants. Planning is key to any project’s success. The more work you put into planning and preparation before your first meeting with a client, the better your proposal will be.
Asking the right questions and being prepared can help your brand redesign project go smoothly. If you want to know more about rebranding, feel free to contact ID Card PH.
