Which Colors Are Considered Earth Tones?

Earth tones are colors derived from the colors of the earth or nature. The most popular ones are yellow (sage, lemon), browns (sepia, pecan), and orange (cinnamon), although there are many others such as violet and blue-green.

When you look at a sunset or a patch of grass in the morning, you can see these colors very easily. We can call any color that is derived from these colors “earthy.” Other bright earth color palettes include Spring Fling, Garden Party and Tropical Breeze.

Keep in mind that health brands tend to be a bit more muted, whereas the brands for other industries tend to have brighter palettes.

Wrapping Up

For more accurate color guidance, the ID Card PH team works along with clients to develop their brand’s identity and establish different color schemes.

We also recommend using the Hex Color Chart to choose colors. For example, if a client likes the #555040 color palette of Spring Fling, we could use that color as a base and incorporate other colors such as #3B7018, #A8383E and #A86F45, depending on what industry they are in. When creating a business card, ensure your design elements work together.
